The first part of our mission statement says Thanking God. . .
This represents our opportunity as a Christian Nation to join in unity to give God thanks for the Nation we live in, for the many blessings we enjoy in this Great SouthLand of the Holy Spirit. This can be expressed in many ways however when we join in unity on this occasion to Thank God something special happens in the heavens. Our worship and thanksgiving to God seems to have a greater impact.
You can organise a special time of worship and thanksgiving on the Saturday night of our National Day of Thanks. You could include a specific thanksgiving segment in your Sunday service specifically thanking God for the Nation we live in, and the freedoms and blessings we enjoy in this Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible has a lot to say about being thankful. Have a look at some of these scriptures:
1 Tim 2:1-2; Eph 5:20; 1 Thes 5:16-18; Psalm 136:1-3; Psalm 100:4; Psalm 95:1-3; Psalm 79:13; Psalm 75:1; Psalm 30:11-12; 2 Chron 3:17; Rev 4:9-11.
