Why should schools be involved in Australia’s National Day of Thanks?
National Day of Thanks is an opportunity to teach students a prevailing attitude of Gratitude to God for the blessings we have and to one another for the difference they make in our lives and the life of our communities.
Being involved in our National Day can lift the school’s profile in the community by providing a vehicle for student’s to engage in acts of kindness, reaching out on behalf of their school, demonstrating the values and spirit of your school in the local community.
During the week leading up to the National Day of Thanks students can take part in all kinds of activities to express their Thanks to others within and without the school community. National Day of Thanks Cards can be given to those on our annual Focus list or teachers can be thanked by students. The opportunities are limitless.
Have you seen our School Gratitude Program?
At the request of some teachers and schools we have developed a School Gratitude Program with a Teacher’s Guide for the classroom which includes activities for students from Kindy right up to Year 12. The Teacher’s Guide is available to purchase in printed form and there are free resource downloads available at School Resources.
